What stage of growth are you in your business?

Being a woman in business definitely means experiencing several phases. After all, we often wear a lot of hats in life. Couple that with business responsibilities it can be a challenge. But there are ways to experience more ease and flow if you take notice of the stage you are in growing your business.

If you’re a woman on a path to growing your business exponentially, you can expect to go through a growth curve consisting of 3 Stages of Growth.

In a recent blog post, I shared the first stage of growth a business owner goes through. THE SEED STAGE.

Today, we’ll talk about the Growth Stage of  Business.

I’ll highlight details on what happens in the Growth Stage, some things to expect, and what’s important about the Growth Stage.

Let’s jump right in

In the Growth Stage of business:

  • You may find yourself moving out of survival mode. This is a good thing. Survival mode is where you just aren’t sure from day to day. You can learn more about it in the article about the seed stage I mentioned earlier. YESSSSS! A sigh of relief is to be expected.
  • You normally have begun trying to figure out who your true clients and customers are. Those more ideal for your business. Before you may have simply been willing to service anyone. You just needed a client, some money, something you could play with now. Your more ideal clients are what I call Your Perfect People. I talk about attracting them in this video (click here)
  • Your Income and Revenue feel more certain. There is a consistency that begins to happen in your business.
  • The Growth Stage can be tricky. You really have to be careful. In this stage, many make the huge mistake of increasing their spending during the Growth Stage. After all, you’ve been in survival mode for so long, it feels like freedom. You’ve worked hard, and you deserve it, right? You just have to be mindful of not getting ahead of yourself. Many people make the grave mistake of doing a lot of excess things with the increased Revenue in this stage of Growth.

This is actually where I feel you should invest back into your business.

Here are some things to do to reach or maintain in the Growth Stage:

  • Begin putting money to the side.  I teach a concept called “6 Things to Do with a Dollar” to my clients. Everything earned isn’t meant to be immediately spent. A great portion should be invested. But that’s for another share.
  • Get rid of things that just are not working. Learn to release in this stage.
  • Start delegating some of the lower-level tasks out to someone else so you can focus on the income-producing things that you are great at, whether that’s a great service provider or an excellent visionary/leader. Hiring is a great option.

Become more aware of who you are (Your Brand Identity) and how you want to show up as a Brand

  • Look at the operational side of your business. Whether you are a self-employed entrepreneur, Business owner, Videographer, therapist, Realtor, Personal Stylist, Health and Wellness Coach, Wealth Coach, or Cake baker… there is a business side to your business. Your attention to it will determine whether you continue to grow!
  • The Growth Stage is a time to be attentive to your business’s working functions and systems. My clients who reach exponential growth learn to create great systems. It not only serves as a foundational strength for your business but also becomes a part of your brand, This is a time when you really should master your systems.
  • As you prepare for a greater influx of people and customers, you should market to them and service them with greater ease. Not more frustration.

Not with more fires to put out, Look at creating a greater experience for the customer in this stage. I love this part of my work with clients. So much transpires. So much creativity and efficiency are formed. It’s a win-win for you and your clientele.

  • Your Customer Process should function at the highest. After all, we need customers to do business, and their experience with you is important. Scheduling appointments, the experience they have on the phone, their consultation, their check-out process, their connections between visits.. their connection with your online presence, all of this stuff matters!
  • If you have staff or employees in your business, their training, etiquette, and staff meetings, all matters gravely too. They are creating the culture in your business and Brand. Everyone in your business ultimately “is the experience” customers have in your place.  A part of your Brand                  Clients are affected by staff. Even if they are directly interacting with them, It becomes a part of your Brand. Your Brand is and how the marketplace sees you!
  • Take time in the Growth Stage to begin operating with specific systems. Recognize how well they work or don’t work! Tweak them so that they work to Peak Performance! This will help to eliminate some of the frustration that can occur because you are getting more customers and being exposed to more people. This is a great time to focus on those systems. As you grow there are also more customers to spread the word if things are not operating well.

This is a huge time for reflection! It can even feel like you have taken a seat back when you haven’t. You’ve just taken an opportunity to maximize and master your time, your energy, your money, your resources, your connections, and your systems

Remember, Sometimes LESS IS MORE!

The Growth Stage is really a time to use some of the added Revenue to get help in your business. It’s a time to make doing business easier and not harder.

Don’t be The Lone Ranger. Get help. You Simply Can’t do it all and do it with a spirit of excellence!

This details many of the things that are expected and the things that you should Master in your Growth Stage.

Measuring will be everything to mastering this Level and preparing

for the next.

I would love to hear from you about what stage you feel you’re in so far.

Hopefully, this has challenged you to take another look at your business!
