Most business owners open their business with one goal in mind…

TO OPEN.

Often following a traditional path or routine based on limited previous exposure they might have had.

Most did not come from a long lineage of entrepreneurs nor were advantaged to start under the wing of a mentor.

Just a dream. Whhich is so important. So necessary!

Being the optimist and possibility shifter that I am I believe EVERYONE should dream.

Everyone should have a dream.

It’s just that a dream without vision is a vague aspiration that lacks clear direction.

Without Vision, Business Owners can find themselves just working.

Hitting “some” high points along the way, or taking years upon years to reach a point of comfort and fulfillment.

 But I know you.

That’s definitely not your desire.

This is often the result of no defined VISION.

A vision is a clear picture or perspective of future achievement, outlook, or position.

Vision was that thing that got me over the hump and through life interruptions that were different from what I had originally planned.

  • Divorce after a 14-year marriage and becoming a single mom to a teenage daughter. I created my Premium Offer and made 60K in sales in two months dring that time because of Vision.
  • The 2007/8 recession while running my then brick-and-mortar business and having our best year yet-growing by leaps and bounds
  • Transitioning to the online space after 10 years as a brick and mortar business owner
  • The pandemic
  • Transitioning to from leading an inhouse staff of 12 employees to  Coaching and Consulting Full-time location free.

Through every change, pivot, moment of adversity.. vision has continued to prove it’s enherent value.

Not only in my life personally, but in my clients lives who continue to use the Vision we create at the onset of their time with me .

A well-known Proverb says,

Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he?

Vision becomes part of your personal laws.

Here is my take on that Proverb.

A vision gives you a soundboard. Things to map out, plan, and live by.

A guide.

Something to measure choices and decisions by.

Here are 6 benefits of having a vision:
#1 Focus

Focus– The center of interest or activity!

When operating a business or any project, group, or even a family, if there is a vision,  you have a focal point that helps to make sure you meet the goals needed to carry out the desired results. Without it, you may find yourself all over the place, just trying stuff, choosing prematurely, and making quick rash decisions that are a waste of time and can also be costly.

What this can look like in business is

  • jumping from one new product or service to another without a clear plan.
  • making impulse decisions based on trends that only last for a short term
  • neglecting customer feedback
  • not prioritizing key tasks conducive to growth.
  • frequently changing marketing strategies

Not having a clear Vision in business can lead to a lack of focus and direction causing stagnation and uncertainty in business growth.

#2 A Vision develops a level of organization.

Organization -an organized body of people with a particular purpose, especially a business, society, association, etc.

When you have a vision, you also have a vision for who can help you bring it to pass.

Be it staff, clients,  the right  Coach/Mentor, partnerships, collaborations, and the proper relationships that need to be formed for support.

Boy, does VISION bring organization!  There is nothing like trying to lead or support a group of people who are scattered and uncertain about where they fit, or how to get the job done. This si swhat it’s like hiring staff or a team without an over all vision. Only focusing on the mission which may in the heart be more money for the day. Now we know that’s not a centered mission either, but can you see how not having a clear Vision can lead to more uncertainty in your business?

Without organization, a team may have a tendency to do their own thing, which rarely ever benefits the business unless a container for the end goal has been established. When I work with clients who have a team or desire to, I emphasie the importance of being able to share your Vision often with the team.

When there is no vision, connecting with people not in alignment is almost inevitable.

People hire the wrong staff when the full Vision and purpose has not been established.

When the leader has a clear vision it leads to organization!

#3 Vision sparks Growth

Growth– the process of increasing in size, be it emotionally, spiritually, or in a tangible way.

One thing most business owners know when they open is that they want to grow. The big question is

  • How will you do that? What does that look like?
  • Have you thought of the specific steps you will take to support, assure, and measure the steps of growth you want for your company and your life?
  • Not every opportunity or move will bring harmony to both your business and life. This is why it’s so important to get clear on what you truly desire for your company.  Not just the money you want to make today. Don’t make your goals based on what others are doing. So many end up trying to attain goals that are not their own and regret it. Your Vision is your Personal map.
  •  Give yourself permission to rock out in your unique vision for your life and business.

Nothing like working hard, exerting all your time and energy then later finding out you are nowhere near where you truly want to be. Realizing, after all the work and years, it doesn’t align with what you truly desire and your unique purpose or calling.

A clear vision grows in a way that’s measurable. It offers the opportunity to tweak, shift, or change when needed to ensure it stays in alignment with what you truly desire and need for your company’s growth.

  • What is your idea for growth?
  • What are you planning to do in your business next?
  • How will it impact or align with your Vision for your Business and life this year?

Vision offers Fulfillment

Fulfillment-satisfaction or happiness as a result of fully developing one’s abilities or character.

When I say obtaining your vision will build character, I really mean that!

The process of achieving a vision develops character and discipline that is an asset, and a complete blessing to your entire life.

It will require you to personally develop in order to reach your vision.

A vision is often a lot further out from where you are now and will cause you to stretch your potential and step into a New Identity. One that is a match for what you desire.

The result internally is fulfillment!

You feel absolutely great when accomplishing purpose-driven goals that allow you to grow as a person as well.

A Vision gives you Purpose

Purpose– the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.

  • Do you know your why?
  • Do you know why you want to be a successful entrepreneur?
  • Why your company exist?
  • What you desire for your life?
  • What is the purpose for your business?

When you get clear everything in your business and life will shift if you align with it.

Finding clarity on your vision will help to answer questions!

Without it, you rarely gain the inspiration you need to make IT happen.

A clear vision gives your business a Bigger Purpose!

Vision creates Simplicity

Simplicityfreedom from complexity, intricacy, or division into parts.

Because a vision causes you to know where you are headed, there are fewer things you allow to distract you.

You are connected only to those things, places, people, and actions that align with your vision and desired results.

This simplifies things tremendously.

Trying this, and trying that can lead to frustration. It is sometimes the culprit for giving up because of the difficulty of choosing from so many options. Flying by the seat of your pants can leave you scratching your head and feeling overwhelmed.

A vision simplifies the options and choices and makes taking action much simpler.

A vision brings simplicity!

Most of the topics or results of having a vision I’ve shared are really what people are in pursuit of in their business and life.

Vision is the thing that really helped me GET MY LIFE. I was able to overcome during hard situations, make better choices and keep going when most would have quit. Having a vision and strategically walking it out defines life in the most simplifying way.
